CWC 1976 W10 hacking manual wind British Army-issued vintage wrist watch. The watch back is numbered W10 the year issue is stamped 1979

It's a great example from the brushed case to the excellent condition dial, tritium indices and movement.

Word to the wise, check for good examples with the same traits as this one when thinking of buying this model. The cheapest rarely end up being the best or far from cheapest in the long run. Condition is key.

The watch has a hacking feature and CWC calibre 649 movement housed inside a monocoque tonneau shaped stainless steel case. Cabot Watch Company (CWC) produced for the British Army under the W10 marking between.

The watch succeeded the earlier Hamilton W10 an earlier Smiths army issue watches and It's known nowadays for its bold aesthetic and looks.

The case shape and dial configuration appear to have aged perfectly to suit modern watch tastes, satisfying the vintage 'itch' without the quality and integrity of the watch suffering for it.

The T marking on the dial stands for tritium, the original 1970s material used to make dials luminescent, a mark which guarantees the originality of the dial and it has aged beautifully giving them a great vanilla tone which look fantastic against the Arabic white numerals & solid black dial.

The dial is in fully original condition right the way down to the gorgeously aged tritium hour markers which are remarkably intact. It has sword hands, hour plots, tracking ring and broad arrow denotation all typical of military pieces.

It has Fixed lug bars as do  many military pieces, notably also present in the Dirty Dozen collection.

These watches were also produced for the RAF and the Navy/Royal marines, bearing the references '6BB' and '0552' respectively.
