The “Wilshire” has a gorgeous slim case with unusual large articulated lugs that just add to it's uniqueness. This is the initial version of the "Wilshire" from 1939 containing the 17-jewel grade 980 movement. It was priced at $50.00 in 1939.
It is crisp & in excellent condition, I have rarely come across one so well preserved as this in many years.
The caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 50mm long and 22mm wide.
It has the stunning gold coral dial with gilt black roman numerals, blued hands and a classic small seconds it is everything a classic art deco watch should be. It is elegant & timeless in its design and one of the best looking dinner watches I have come across in amazing condition for its age.
The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 980 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
I have Paired it with a brand new Rios Cognac leather saddle hook strap at a cost of £30 which compliments this watch beautifully.
The case measures 50mm long and 22mm wide
