Rare fully original, Ollech & Wajs Silvernight Vintage Chronograph. Valjoux 7730 manual wind, Fully serviced. This is a stunning vintage O&W Silvernight 1960's Chronograph with all the charm you could want and a perfect 38mm size.
Its fully serviced last year and running perfectly. I have a you tube link to the service performed by the watch servicer. These are highly collectable and increasing in value, read the history below.
 
Just check that dial from the golden radial sub dials to the outer white telemeter tachymetre printing. The famous O&W partitioned hour and minute hands & the vanilla aged lume. Finally that etched undirectional bezel that can be used as a dual time zone GMT or for elapsed time.
 
The chunky and perfectly proportion vintage all steel case. I have paired it with a new ZRC French hand made leather strap with contrasting yellow stitching & yellow piping  that really compliments the watch.

Given the relative obscurity of the sport, tool watches designed specifically for this purpose are all the more rare. I absolutely love this OW with its incredible dial with big-eye regatta register and large case with stainless steel bezel.
 
Ollech & Wajs History: In the 1950s, Albert J. Wajs founded the company as a supplier ofstainless steelbracelets. He partnered with Joseph Ollech in 1956 and expanded into the manufacture of wristwatches from retail space in Zurich. Watches were offered by mail order from Switzerland through magazine ads to customers in the United States and UK.
 
The company specialized in automatic & manual-wind mechanical military & dive watches. They were sold in PX's on US military bases during the 1960s. The company's M 65 military watch was popular with US soldiers.The Vietnam War  marked an all-time high in sales. The Breitling Navitimer stock was used to produce Ollech & Wajs chronometer-style watches, called "Aviation".
 
During the first season of the 1970s British television series,
The Professionals, actors Martin Shaw & Lewis Collins wore what appears to be Ollech & Wajs Caribbean wrist watches, which is a  1,000m water-resistant. O&W finally ended production of OW models in the early 1980s, although business continued with the Aviation chronographs.
 
In the 1990s, the company resumed under the nameA.I. Wajs.and subsequently OW. New models were successfully introduced, such as the M4 diving watch and the Mirage Valjoux 7750 chronograph. In 2006 a collector of OW became the distributor of the brand for the French market, and in 2017, Albert J. Wajs passed the company over to him.
