Vintage 1968 omega constellation chronometer watch ‘c’ case.
 
This super omega constellation model 168.017 was designed by the legendary Gerald Genta.
 
This watch dates to 1968 and was one of the first ’c’ case tonneau shape constellations to be manufactured with the new ‘quick-set‘ date change movement. 
 
That dial is quite something to behold, a silver linen crosshatch dial with indices filled with black onyx. The framed day/ date & applied logo & finished with perfect slim  hands.
 
The steel case  is still in superb condition with nice crisp edges & beveling  to the  shoulders & flanks. Brushed & polished where it should be. Really study the case. It has those superb lugs that cut so sharply into the case. Beware as there are many over polished poor examples out there that take away all the intricate design cues. So look carefully when  considering.
 
The caliber 751 automatic chronometer movement is in superb condition  & is running perfectly a strong amplitude & plus 40 seconds a day .
 
The  silver ‘linen crosshatch -weave’ dial is in absolutely pristine condition, one of the best that we have seen in many years. The  batons, date window & hands are in perfect original condition also complementing the dial perfectly. Finished by that white gold coin edge bezel its a stunner.
There is no loss or wear to the case  as is usual with these models. The omega bracelet is inexcellent order & will fit up to a maximum 7 & 1/4 inch wrist with maximum adjustment.
 
The watch looks amazing on the wrist & these models used to outsell the rolex equivalents of there time. When you look at them it's not hard to see why.
 
All in all it's a stunning watch, designed by arguably the greatest watch designer  and finished to such a high standard by Omega at the peak of their powers.

THE CALIBRE 751 AUTOMATIC CHRONOMETER MOVEMENT IS IN SUPERB CONDITION  & IS RUNNING PERFECTLY A STRONG AMPLITUDE & PLUS 20 SECONDS A DAY .
 
THE  SILVER ‘LINEN CROSSHATCH -WEAVE’ DIAL IS IN ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE CONDITION, ONE OF THE BEST THAT I'VE HAVE SEEN IN MANY YEARS. THE  BATONS, DATE WINDOW & HANDS ARE IN PERFECT ORIGINAL CONDITION ALSO COMPLEMENTING THE DIAL PERFECTLY. FINISHED BY THAT WHITE GOLD COIN EDGE BEZEL ITS A STUNNER.
