Omega Constellation C Case Vintage Watch.
 
This is the one to have linen crosshatch dial, white gold coin edge bezel & in excellent condition & condition is key. 
All original down to the omega logo acrylic crystal.
vintage 1968 omega constellation chronometer watch ‘c’ case.
 
This super omega constellation model 168.017 was designed by the legendary Gerald Genta.
 
The watch dates to 1968 and was one of the first ’c’ case Tourneau shape constellations to be manufactured with the new ‘quick-set‘ date change movement. 
 
The dial is quite something to behold, gold linen crosshatch dial with indices filled with black onyx. the framed day/ date & applied logo & finished with perfect slim hands. The gold capped case is still in good vintage condition with nice crisp edges & bevelling to the shoulders & flanks. brushed where it should be and polished where it should be. 
 
Really study the case it has those superb lugs that cut so sharply into the case. beware as there are many over polished poor examples out there that take away all the intricate design cues. so, look carefully when considering.

 
The calibre 751 automatic chronometer movement is in superb condition & is running perfectly a strong amplitude & was serviced a year ago.
 
The gold ‘linen crosshatch -weave’ dial is in absolutely pristine condition, one of the best that I've have seen in many years. the batons, date window & hands are in perfect original condition also complementing the dial perfectly. finished by that gold coin edge bezel, it's a stunner.
 
There is no loss or wear to the case as is usual with these models, they are usually very tired. this omega gold plated bracelet is rare to find as most have been lost & replaced with a generic leather strap.
 
The watch looks amazing on the wrist & these models used to outsell the Rolex equivalents of their time. when you look at them it's not hard to see why.
 
All in all, it's a stunning watch, designed by arguably the greatest watch designer and finished to such a high standard by omega at the peak of their powers. simply a stunning watch.
