Tissot Seastar Vintage Race Dial 1970's chronograph. Serviced, Very good condition & Rare Find.
Valjoux  7733 manual wind calibre. On a new £30 Italian leather handmade supple race strap.
 
Here we have a gorgeous example of a vintage Tissot Race Dial vintage chronograph watch! This dial is rare & doesn’t come up very often, stunning silver sunburst brushed dial with  matt grey contrasting chronograph racing dial section. Its pure seventies at its finest , colourful dynamic with contrast in colours and dial design that this era of racing chronos screamed.
 
The use of playful colours on the sub dials to hands is spot on. Using white, Orange, red & blue. The way the grey sub dials  then feeds all round the outer tachymeter circumference is perfect and cuts back in on the indices.This dial is mint down to the warm  lume pips.
 
The Case
This is a very interesting tourneau style case.  It has a deep  brushed top with sharp beveled edges that contrast to polished sides. Look at the images side on and the angles on the underside of the lugs, how they flare using curves and sharp diagonal lines. It really is a lovely multifaceted design & way  more intricate then you first think when viewed from various angles .
 
The Movement:
 
Its a Valjoux 7733 manual wind chronograph & its had a full service. Its running perfectly on the timegrapher so no worries about a service in the near future.
 
All in all this is a great and rare example of this particular Tissot  Race Dial model and its definitely going to be a happy owner of this watch. I personally love it.
