Tissot Seastar Navigator Chronograph, Valjoux 7734 manual wind, 1974 Vintage Black dial watch,

This is a super example just check that  lovely Black dial. The case still has the brushing on the front and lugs & polishing  on the side. Also the tachymeter bezel is good as most are completely faded or just plain black & good luck trying to find a old stock one.

It has its original tissot crown  and was recently serviced i do not have the paperwork but I will happily provide timegrapher readings.

Its running perfectly on the timegrapher a strong amplitude, no beat error. Finally I fitted a lovely new

ZRC French black  leather hand made rally strap with contrasting red stitch & punched holes .

It's just a lovely example of what a vintage sports Chronograph should be. These are rising in price and harder to find in this condition and good working order. Tissot nailed this model. I have one in my own collection which I will always keep as there the epitome of  1970's sport Chronograph.

The Tissot Seastar Navigator reference 40522 is a wonderfully 70s yachting chronograph. It features the manual-winding Valjoux caliber 7734, which sits inside its 41mm brushed & polished stainless steel case.

The case is 13mm thick and measured 42.5mm lug-to-lug and a 20mm lug width. This

specific watch is from 1974, as far as I was able to determine using an online Tissot serial number decoder.

It has white hands and rectangular hour indices   markers which have aged to a beautiful vanilla colour.

The  stealth black dial continues with the sub-dials. Inside the running seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, a small bright white hand can be found, as well as the “20”, “40”, and “60” second marks.

On the opposite side of the dial at the 3 o’clock position, the elapsed minutes counter features a bright red hand that  advances once per minute for a count of up to 30 minutes. A nicely framed date window sits at the 6 o’clock position. As you can see, it’s a good example.
