What a stunning example of a chronograph from Vulcain
With the watch in hand the dial is a joy. The print is ever-so-slightly raised and consists of a textured gold ink with an attractive flake to it. It’s crisp & raised gilt numerals. The rose gold leaf hands match perfectly. In short, the dial is spot on.

 
The case is also well-judged. The lugs feel the right length, the 42mm diameter hugging the wrist well. The sapphire crystal rides a little higher than the edge of the case, curving sweetly in true vintage style.
 
The strong  tapered polished lugs against the brushed sides of the watch give a seamless blend & variance to the case. It has such a great balance that work in harmony with that dial that just works in all different light play.
 
It has a modified single pusher modified by renowned movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret as a dateless monopusher bi-compax chronograph calibre.
